This is a question. i own and drive an 1988 Range Rover. I am trying to eleminate the whine I get from the front axle I have tried three different differentials, one came with the vehicle and was replaced with one I rebuilt that was formerly the rear that whined. It also whined, mainly because I set the backlash at .005 thousanths. It has now beem replaved with a used differential tha was bought from a very reputable Land Rover mechanic in Portland. Who said he drove the Range Rover that it came out of. It is somewhat better, but it too whines. Can you suggest what I can try next that will not cost too much. Or is this just a problem with these differentials. I don'twant to live with this noise. This is very irretating as the Rover is very Quite otherwise. Help, James 541 592 2518
